Cape Town and Garden Route Tour

Option 1:

This amazingly scenic 7 day base tour starts with a Cape Town City tour. We look at amongst others Table Mountain (weather permitting)  alternatively Signal Hill, the Castle of Good Hope, the Malay Quarter (Bo Kaap), Company Garden, St Georges Cathedral and the District Six Museum. 

On the second day we do the Cape Point (Peninsular) tour. We travel along the western seaboard from Cape Town to Houtbay (Dyker Island), on to Cape Point via Chapman’s Peak, Cape of Good Hope,  lunch at a local Fish and Chips Restaurant and then off to the Penguin colony in Simons Town. From here we travel back to Cape Town stopping off at the world famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden. 

Day 3 we leave Cape Town for Oudshoorn, a town made famous by ostriches and the Cango Caves. After visiting these attractions and having lunch at an ostrich farm, we return to Oudshoorn to overnight. 

Day 4 we depart after a leisurely breakfast to Knysna, a beautiful town nestled along the shores of the Knysna Lagoon. Along the way we stop for a view of the Indian Ocean from the Outiniqua Pass. We arrive in Knysna in time for lunch. A town renowned for its oysters and the scarce Knysna Sea Horse. We allow you the day to explore this quaint little town and its visual and culinary delights. We overnight in Knysna. 

Day 5, after breakfast, we leave the hotel for a day of spectacular sightseeing; we visit the Big Tree, one of the oldest Indigenous trees left in the Tsitsikama Forest; we visit the Tsitsikama National Coastal Reserve and do a short walk to the Storms River Mouth; after lunch, we depart for a guided boat ride up the Keurbooms River. Return to Knysna where we overnight. 

Day 6, we depart for a tour to the Featherbed Reserve located across the lagoon for a magnificent walk and lunch. After lunch we depart for the hotel in Mosselbay, where Bartolomeu Dias, the first European to set foot on South African soil, landed. Here we have a chance to visit the famous Postal Tree and Maritime Museum. 

Day 7 we depart early morning for Cape Town. We stop at the Swellendam Museum and also have lunch at La Belle Alliance. After lunch we continue to Cape Town. 

This tour can also be done from George airport or end at George airport in order to shorten the itinerary. 

Option 2:

Day 1 – Arrive in George airport / Transfer to Knysna / Knysna Heads 

Day 2 – Featherbed reserve walk / Ferry boat

Day 3 – Elephant Interaction / Birds of Eden / Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary 

Day 4 – Transfer to Cape Town / Dias Museum Mossel Bay (on the way)

Day 5 – Chapman’s Peak / Cape Point / Penguins 

Day 6 – Wine tour OR Table Mountain and City Tour 

Day 7 – Transfer to CT airport
