Mpumalanga, eSwatini (Swaziland) and KwaZulu-Natal

An exciting 7 day base tour of Kruger Park (including the Panorama Route) Swaziland, Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game reserve, the brand new Isimangaliso Coastal Reserve, a guided boat ride on the st Lucia estuary with tons of Crocks and Hippo’s, and a Zulu cultural show is only some of what you will see! There are also specialized tours in Birding and game walks in a BIG 5 environment. Accommodation varies from camping options, comfortable air-conditioned chalets to ultimate 5 star luxury in game lodges.

On day one we travel from Johannesburg via the Panoramic Route where we will visit the famous Three Rondawels (Blyde River Canyon), water-falls and the equally famous view point of Gods Window. We travel on to our overnight accommodation in or adjacent to the Kruger National Park.

On the second day we start the first of two day’s safaris in The Kruger Park or one of the surrounding private reserves (depending on the package chosen). Not only the big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) but a multitude of other forms of life is to be seen! A Truly wild place!

There are two kinds of options to stay overnight: a regular hotel/lodge or self-catering chalets. The latter can be inside the Kruger National Park or surroundings. In both cases, we offer catering, with breakfast and dinner. Note: to stay overnight inside the Kruger National Park, bookings must be made more than 6 months in advance.

Day four we depart early morning for eSwatini, former Swaziland, here we visit the Ingwenya Glass Factory, Mbabane (the capitol), the Ezulwini valley for curio shopping and have lunch along the way! We overnight in the Ezulwini Valley.

On day five we depart early morning after breakfast for KwaZulu-Natal. After refreshing at the Hotel, we depart for a wonderful afternoon of Zulu culture and dance at Dumazulu, where we also have lunch. We overnight in Hluhluwe.

Early the morning of the sixth day we depart for a morning safari in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi game reserve, the flagship of reserves in KwaZulu-Natal. On the same day we travel to the town of St Lucia and the Isimangaliso Game Reserve. Here we have lunch on a ferry while cruising the St Lucia Estuary, meanwhile looking for hippos, crocks and many other forms of wildlife (a birders paradise).

Day seven we travel towards Durban and the King Shaka Intl. airport for a flight to Cape Town, George airport (when choosing to carry on with the garden route tour) or Johannesburg.

Also available as a add on to the above is a two-day stay at Kaapsehoop Horse Trails. Here we do a one-day horse ride in the area of Kaapsehoop, famous for its wild horses and pioneer history and on the second day, we depart via a road transfer to Hazyview for an elephant back adventure. This excursion, because of popularity, needs to be booked 6 months in advance.
